About

Created for owners who are passionate about their Pets and who want to know where they are if they are doing well and even if they are practicing the activities recommended by their veterinarians. It is a device integrated with an IoT platform that transmits in real-time to the application of the location of your Pet and manages the registered virtual fences. It is possible to track more than one Pet at the same time, check walking history, and receive safety notifications.

The challenge

Millions of pets are stolen or lost every year around the world. Brazil has about 78 million dogs and cats and the number of pet thefts only increases year after year. Not only pets but also stolen cattle generate millions of dollars in damage to farmers and livestock farmers in the countryside.

User research

Our journey began with pet owners to understand and identify their behavioral patterns and profiles – (pain points, needs, and motivations) — we spent a few hours building an interview script consisting of open-ended and direct questions. We conducted interviews face to face with approximately 15 men and women residing in São Paulo and between the age group of 18 to 50 years.

Some questions extracted from one of the research scripts:

  • Are you employed?
  • If so, where do you work?
  • How is your daily routine?
  • What do you do in your spare time, when you are not working?
  • What was the last most expensive thing/experience/service you bought?
  • How often do you go for a walk with your Pet?
  • How often do you take your pet to the vet?
  • Do you usually buy items like collars and new toys for your pet?
  • If so, how often?

Competitive analysis

We studied existing trackers like (Minifinder, Tail Trail and Tracktive) and the observations were made:

  • Lack of GPS accuracy
  • Big and heavy device
  • Confusing App Layout
  • Low battery life.
